About us
Adria Tribunj Fishing Cooperative
In 2000, a group of enthusiastic fishermen from Tribunj came together with the aim of creating a safe harbor for their boats. Thus, the Tribunj Fishermen's Association was founded, which already in 2001 received a concession for the development of the Tribunj Fishing Port.
In order to meet the growing market demand and ensure the sustainable use of marine resources, the Adria Fishing Cooperative was founded in 2007. The cooperative had a clear vision: to organize the fishing sector, prepare for the requirements of the European Union and secure a long-term future for fishermen and their families.
With the amendments to the law in 2015, the Adria Fishing Cooperative was granted a concession for the Tribunj Fishing Port for a period of 20 years, which strengthened its position and enabled long-term planning.
Today, the Adria Cooperative has 12 active members and 6 employees. It has 4 purse seiners, 1 multipurpose vessel and 7 trawlers in its fleet. The cooperative purchases fresh fish from its members, some of which is processed and distributed to the market through retail chains, and some is sold directly to consumers and catering establishments.
The Adria Fishing Cooperative is not only an important economic entity, but also a guardian of the tradition of Dalmatian fishing. Through its work, the cooperative contributes to the preservation of the marine environment and the sustainable development of the local community.
